visiting teaching message
"The Purpose of Relief Society"

Julie B. Beck stated: "the purpose of Relief Society as established by the Lord is to organize, teach, and inspire His daughters to prepare them for the blessings of eternal life.

To fulfill this purpose of Relief Society, the Lord has commissioned each sister and the organization as a whole to:
1. Increase in faith and personal righteousness.
2. Strengthen families and homes.
3. Provide relief by serving the Lord and His children.

We can do this work in the Lord’s way only when we seek, receive, and act on personal revelation."

Humanitarian Hygiene Kits
We are continuing our service project for the year! Our goal is to collect items to complete 100 hygiene kits by August. We are collecting toothbrushes during the month of April. Each kit will contain 4 toothbrushes. Our goal this month is 400 toothbrushes. They each need to be individually packaged. You can buy a four pack that is appropriate at the dollar store. We are still in need of over 100 combs, if you can provide those as well. Thank you.

Relief Society Activity Night
Join us on Tuesday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. for our "100 dresses" activity. Please bring a dress or a coordinating skirt and shirt to donate to a local women's shelter. These women are in need of our gently used and current dresses in order to find jobs and improve their lives. Dinner and a nursery will be provided.

Project Night
Join us on Tuesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at Lisa Thornton's home. Bring a project to work on or just come and hang out for a while. Hope to see you there.

A Restoration of All Things
Sister Julie Beck taught: "Just as the Savior invited Mary and Martha of New Testament times to participate in His work, women of this dispensation have an official commission to participate in the Lord's work...The organization of Relief Society in 1842 mobilized the collective power of the women and their specific assignments to build the Lord's kingdom."
